Emmental cheese is known for its nutty flavor, soft texture and large holes, or "eyes". It's a popular cheese for cooking: great for preparing fondue, quiche and pasta. Or to eat on its own, on bread or with some fruit. Treat your customers to the rich flavor of this king of mountain cheeses. With Emmentaler from Geris Dairy Solutions, you bring top quality into your kitchen!
Emmentaler originates from Emmental in Switzerland. After preparation, the cheese is carefully aged for three months and regularly washed and turned. During this time, the characteristic large holes and rich character develop. Then, the cheese is cut into smaller blocks and aged in a cool environment for up to four more months. Emmentaler is easy to melt, compared to other cheeses, and therefore excellent to use both cold and hot.
At Geris, you'll find Emmentaler cheese from the Netherlands, France, Germany, Ireland and Belgium, packaged in sacks of 15 to 100 pounds. As a wholesaler, we supply Emmentaler to cheese suppliers in the retail, foodservice and food industries. Every day we buy, sell, move and store quality cheeses all over the world.
